| Bio: | Takato was an avid fan and collector of the Digimon Card Game at the beginning of Digimon Tamers. He loved to play the game with his friends Kazu and Kenta whenever he could, and in his free time that wasn’t spent playing the game, he was drawing his own made-up Digimon, Guilmon. One day, when going through his cards, he found a strange blue card and slid it through his card reader. He was very surprised when it changed shape and became a “D-Arc.” The card disappeared after that. That night, he slashed his drawings of Guilmon through his D-Arc, and the Digimon became real. At first, he had serious doubts about his ability to be a “Digimon Tamer,” but his new friend Henry Wong, also a Tamer, helped encourage him, as did Kazu, Kenta, and Takato’s crush Jeri when they learned of Guilmon. Another Tamer, Rika Nonaka gave him the name “Gogglehead” because of the goggles Takato wears in homage to the leader on the Digimon TV Show: Tai Kamiya. Takato was the last to Digivolve his partner to the Champion level, but the first to reach Ultimate. After dealing with many Ultimate levels known as the Devas, Takato and his friends went to the Digital World to save their friend Calumon. Near the end of their Journey in the Digital World, they met an old friend, Impmon, who had pledged loyalty to the Digimon Sovereign and the Devas in exchange for power. He had become Beelzemon, a powerful Mega level demon. Beelzemon killed Jeri’s partner, Leomon, which sent the girl into a deep depression and sent Takato into a rage. He forced WarGrowlmon (Guilmon’s Ultimate Form) to a corrupt Mega, Megidramon, whose mere existence nearly destroyed the Digital World. Beelzemon still won, however, and after seeing Jeri’s reaction to what he had done to the normally innocent Guilmon, Takato broke down. He begged Guilmon for a second chance, and they “biomerged” to become the Shining Knight Gallantmon, his true Mega form. Gallantmon was able to defeat Beelzemon, who would later return to the Tamers’ side. After returning to the real world, the Tamers had to deal with the “D-Reaper,” a program designed to eliminate Digimon that seeped into the real world and now wanted to eliminate it as well. Before leaving the Digital World, it kidnapped the depressed Jeri and replaced her with a clone, its “Agent 01.” The real Jeri’s sadness became its power source. After many battles, the four Tamers capable of biomerging entered D-Reaper to destroy it. Takato’s role was to rescue Jeri while the others dealt with the “Cable Reaper” and using a special program to revert D-Reaper to a simple virus. Gallantmon was nearly defeated by Agent 01 before he managed to reach his “Crimson Mode.” In this form, he destroyed the clone and saved Jeri, and was able to escape the D-Reaper before its destruction. A side effect of the program used on D-Reaper caused the Tamers to lose their partners, but they returned in time to stop an invasion of mega level Parasimon. Takato once again saved the day in his Crimson Mode, eliminating all the Parasimon with a single “Crimson Light.” For the past five years, Takato and the other Tamers have dealt with problems as they come along, but nothing has been very dangerous compared to what they’ve already done. Rarely do they need to go to the Mega level, and Crimson Mode is used once a year at the most. Taming has become rather routine. The Tamers’ primary concern now is not wild Digimon emerging, as they can be easily dealt with. No, the problem now is how to deal with feelings that have become far stronger than they used to be… (Disclaimer: I'm not Takato. I'm not Guilmon. I don't own either, or Digimon.
